[Real Weddings] Chinese-Western Fusion

Rachel and Alex has the perfect venue: Mom & Dad’s backyard in the county with Mt Baker and the foothills all around.  To make it the setting for a Chinese-Fushion wedding wasn’t as hard as they thought.

The invitations were made by hand by Rachel with help from her future sister-in-law, who just happens to own SMH Paper Designs , from cardstock, vellum, Double Happiness ribbon and embossing stamp found on Ebay. Almost all the decorations were found on Ebay or in Chinatowns.

The Western style dress (by 2Be) was found at a local outlet store, and the Chinese dress custom made in China. Bridesmaids were instructed to find Cheongsams on their own time!

Alex brewed all the beer by hand and made all the alcohol for the cocktails. Also on hand was Honeymoon Mead and guests took home bottles of handcrafted berry liqueurs, if they were successful at answering trivia questions.

No celebration is complete without a Lion Dance! Guests were treated to this fun entertainment by the Lane’s Tiger and Crane Kung Fu Academy in Bellingham, WA.
